Raptor EncounterSaturday, April 26
12:30pm-1:30 pm
Learn about Connecticut’s native raptors, including owls, hawks and falcons as we meet DPNC’s resident animal ambassadors. This program is suited for families and adults. Meets at DPNC. Free
Vernal Pool Exploration
Saturday, April 26
2-3:30 pm
Explore one of our planet’s unique wetlands- vernal pools. After learning about salamanders, frogs and invertebrates who depend on these habitats, we’ll venture out for some hands-on exploration. Wear rubber boots or other shoes that you can get wet. This program is suitable for families and adults. Meets at DPNC. Free
Hike DPNC-Coogan
Saturday, April 26
10 am-12 pm
Starting at DPNC, we will hike through the woods, fields and across Pequotsepos Brook to the Giving Garden for a quick tour, before heading past the Stillman Foundation and back to the Nature Center. Along the way, we will discuss the cultural landscape and its natural wonders. This program is suited for families and adults. Free.
Family Birding Walk

10am-11:30pm
Birding can be a wonderful family activity! Learn the basics of birding with your family and get your children excited about the birds in our area. Bring binoculars if you have them. Meets at DPNC. Free
Turtle Encounter
Sunday, April 27
2-3 pm
Connecticut is home to many amazing turtle species. Learn about our resident turtles who call DPNC home as you see them up close. This program is suited for families and adults. Meets at DPNC.
