En Plein Air Artist: Serena Bates

Description

On select weekends this summer, notable artists are invited to Ocean House to share their artistic vision and give a demonstration of their skills.

Serena Bates will be sculpting en plein air on Ocean House grounds between 10:00 a.m. and Noon and 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Serena will share how she creates her stunning sculptures and other amazing works of art. Finished pieces will be available for purchase.

About Serena Bates

Serena Bates is a Westerly, Rhode Island local. Serena started her journey at the young age of 8 or 9 years old with the exploration and interpretation of the world around her through art. Beginning with pencil and paper sketches, Serena went on to explore a variety of media, including charcoal, pastel, and oil and acrylic paint, as she depicted landscapes, flowers, and animals. As a young adult, she studied traditional figure painting and anatomy at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and the Rhode Island School of Design.
