About Us

Westminster Youth String Ensemble provides a high quality string music performance experience for promising young musicians from Southern Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut. WYSE accepts all children who are interested in playing a string instrument. No child is turned away due to financial constraints. All musicians are welcome as music is a gift everyone should enjoy!

Westminster Youth String Ensemble provides a high quality string music performance experience for promising young musicians from southern Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut. No child is ever turned away due to financial constraints. Scholarships are available for tuition assistance, private lesson instruction and reduced rental fees for WYSE owned string instruments. WYSE has established a mentorship program which includes young adults serving as string coaches for the students in the ensemble. The children are inspired by the example of the string coaches and the coaches gaining invaluable experience while working with the students at our weekly rehearsals. This mentorship program has been a win-win situation for the mentors and members of WYSE!
