    Lisa Konicki is the President of the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce and the Ocean Community Chamber Foundation.  She serves as the chief executive officer of the Chamber and is responsible for developing programs and working with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, government officials, the business community and community organizations.  The three core areas of The Chamber’s program of work include tourism marketing and development, economic development and community event production.  Ms. Konicki became the President on October 15, 1996 after having served in membership development at the Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce and also having produced numerous large scale community events in Mystic, CT as Director of Marketing and Membership for the Mystic Community Center.  She is an accomplished, passionate and award-winning executive. She is regarded as an expert in the subject of a chamber’s role in disaster recovery, having been a driving force in the recovery of the flood of 2010 and Superstorm Sandy in 2012.  She led campaigns that raised a combined $480,000 in grant funds for local businesses.  Additionally, her marketing and communications skills led Westerly to win the Benjamin Moore “Main Street Matters” contest, resulting in 29 downtown businesses getting a free paint make-over in 2014. Since 2019 Ms. Konicki has served on the Board of Directors for the United Theatre. Ms. Konicki has extensive community engagement experience and served on the board of the L & M Healthcare Corporation and the Westerly Police Re-Entry Committee.  She co-chaired the Westerly Hospital’s 90th Anniversary celebration in 2015.  She was the originator of the Heart Gallery in RI and Southeastern CT, a project that helps find “forever families” for children in state custody, something that is near to her heart as an adoptive mother. Lisa is a Paul Harris Fellow, an award bestowed by the Rotary Club of Westerly.  Other accolades include “Chamber Executive of the Year”, an award given by her chamber executive peers throughout New England in 2011, a Champion Award by Clean Water Action in 2015, Business Women Achievement Award by Providence Business News in 2014. In 2015 she was recognized for her support of the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation.  In 2016 she was unanimously selected as the Grand Marshal of the Westerly Pawcatuck Columbus Day Parade.
