Execution
Building and Executing a Strategic Plan
The Challenge:
Everyone has a different idea of what a strategic plan is, and most aren't pretty. Common perceptions include a time-consuming academic project that never ends or is instantly outdated; an enormous binder that sits untouched for years; or an annual process that produces many ideas, none of which are executed.
The issue is, without a plan to drive intentional strategies and ensure steady progress, nothing new happens—or if it does, it's reactionary, with leadership drifting aimlessly. With guidance, a strategic plan can be both focused and flexible, driving purposeful change and keeping us accountable for results.
Workshop Description:
This interactive workshop is designed to help leaders develop organizational strategic plans, as well as departmental plans which support the broader organizational strategy. It does so by:- Defining the problem(s) and establishing focus
- Building a Strategic Framework that leverages a firm foundation based on a guiding policy and agility that enables flexible, cohesive action
- Setting clear Goals and KPI’s
- Building a regular cadence of accountability
Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:- Get to the root of organizational performance issues and clarify necessary changes
- Building a Strategic Plan that unites departments and key functions within the context of the organization’s global goals
- Establish a means of measuring progress with clearly defined actions and KPI’s
- Set and maintain a schedule for achieving goals
- Know when and how to modify plans to improve effectiveness
