The Chamber’s Business Incubator Program is geared toward speeding up the growth and success of a startup or expanding company. Efforts are directed at jumpstarting businesses by assisting them with finding the perfect start up location. The Chamber of Commerce dedicates two offices within its facility for this purpose. Physical space is available for the period of 1-2 years for a small new business, or newly expanding-to-Westerly business, to establish a first time presence. Ample parking, access to conference room space and significantly subsidized monthly rent, of $450 a month, are part of the program. Additionally, free business mentoring services are provided by SCORE representatives who meet with interested parties at the Chamber facility. The Chamber provides referrals to services such as accountants and lawyers and offers invaluable coaching and networking connections through the staff and other entrepreneurs at the incubator. Our goal is to help foster growth of small businesses and create jobs. After the 1-2 year incubator period, the business would relocate to alternate space outside of the Chamber building for growth.
