Youth Services Associate, Westerly Library & Wilcox Park

Westerly Library and Wilcox Park seeks a collaborative, detail-oriented, highly enthusiastic, and public service oriented individual to work in their busy Youth Services Department. The ideal candidate will possess an ability to work with children of all ages and their families.
 
Duties include assisting with youth programs, assisting patrons in locating books on our shelves and reserving books through interlibrary loans, answering phones, and shelving materials. Additional duties may include developing online and in person programs, providing computer assistance to patrons, enforcing library policy, and assisting in other library departments as needed.
  
Hours and Pay:
20 hours per week. $16.75 per hour. Current hours for this position are:
            Monday                       12pm – 8pm
            Wednesday                 9am – 3:30pm
            Thursday*                   10am – 6pm
            Saturday*                    9am – 4pm
*Saturday shift is on a rotating schedule, working every 4^th Saturday. There will be no Thursday shift during the week of the Saturday rotation.

Qualifications:
Must have excellent communication skills, ability to shelve books in proper alphabetical and numerical order and possess mid- level computer skills. High School diploma or equivalent required.
