Elyssa and Brian first started working together in New London over 10 years ago. After a few years tattooing in different shops they reunited during 2020 and shortly after the lockdown opened their own studio, Black Velvet Ink. Black Velvet Ink was located at the Velvet Mill in Stonington, CT among an amazing community of artisans, entrepreneurs and merchants. While at first it was more of a private studio, the shop has grown and has added several new members under its roof, each with their own unique style of tattooing. In September 2024 we moved our location to downtown Westerly, RI and we are all incredibly excited to be a part of this amazing community!

He is one of the co-owners of Black Velvet Ink and has been tattooing in the area since 2011. He prefers to do realistic color and black and gray but also winds up getting to do a little bit of everything else. Outside of work Brian enjoys crossfit, nerd stuff (Warhammer and board games mostly), spending time with his wife, dogs and too many cats, and getting outdoors in whatever way possible.
