Stand Up For Animals (SUFA) is an independent, 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that is governed by a board of
directors and operates separately from the Westerly Animal Shelter which is governed by the Town of Westerly.
After the successful completion of our new building in 2009, SUFA has remained committed to our mission of
supporting the needs of our state-of-the-art animal shelter, adoption center and regional outreach facility. SUFA and
the Westerly Animal Shelter work together to fulfill a shared vision and mission to promote the health and welfare
of abandoned or lost pets and to educate and assist those who care for them.
